l. Correll house: 2436 Capewood Drive
From the center of the Halesford Bridge, drive north (toward Bedford) on Route 122, 2.3 miles to light at Route 655 (Hendricks Store Road), and turn right. Drive 4.1 miles to stop sign at Route 608 (White House Road). Note: Route 655 becomes Route 654 in vicinity of Radford Church. Turn right onto Route 608 and drive 2.7 miles to end of road at Route 626 (SML Parkway), then turn right. Take 1st left (Tolers Ferry Road). Drive 3.7 miles to Route 734 (Trading Post Road); turn right and drive 1.4 miles to Capewood Drive, at sign for Mountain View Shores. Turn left, and drive 1.3 miles to house

2. Gantt house: 1241 Lakefield Drive
Return to Trading Post Road, and turn right. Drive .8 miles to Lakefield Drive, and turn right. Drive .2 miles to no. 1241.
3. Fuzi house: 99 South Pointe Lane
Return to Trading Post Road, and turn right. Drive .6 mile to Route 608 (Tolers Ferry Road), and turn left. Drive 3.7 miles to end, at Route 626 (SML Parkway), and turn right. Take first left onto White House Road, then drive 2.7 miles to Route 654 (Radford Church Road), and turn left. Drive 4.1 miles to light at end, at Route 122 (Moneta Road). Note: Route 654 becomes Route 655 in vicinity of Halesford Church. Turn left, and drive 5.7 miles (crossing Halesford Bridge) to light at Scruggs Road (Route 616). Turn left, and drive 7.0 miles to Route 1343 (Boardwalk Drive), at sign for The Boardwalk. Turn left, and drive .4 miles to South Pointe Lane, and turn right. Proceed to house, at end of cul-de-sac.
4. Gusso house: 131 Park Place Road
Return to Boardwalk Drive, and turn right. Drive .2 miles to Park Place Drive, and turn left.
5. Lampkin house: 94 Marvin Gardens Drive
Return to Boardwalk Drive, and turn right. Drive .9 miles to end, at Route 616, and turn right. Drive 2.1 miles to Route 942 (Bluewater Drive), just past the Exxon station. Turn right, and drive 1.1 miles to Saunders Farm Road. Turn right, and drive .3 miles to Winding Waters Drive. Turn right, and drive .4 miles to Parkway Avenue. Turn left, and drive .4 miles to Vermont Avenue (just past Park Place sign). Turn right, and drive .2 miles to Atlantic Avenue. Turn right, and drive .1 mile to first right, at Pacific Avenue. Drive .2 miles to Marvin Gardens, and turn left.
6. and 7. Heck house: 140 Blackwater Circle
Redden house: 145 Blackwater Circle
(Houses are across the street from each other, and you will park just once to see both houses)
Return to Pacific Avenue, and turn right. Drive .2 mile to Atlantic Avenue, and turn left. Drive .1 mile to Vermont Avenue, and turn left. Drive .2 mile to Parkway Avenue, and turn left. Drive .4 mile to Winding Waters Drive, and turn right. Drive .3 mile to Saunders Farm Road, and turn left. Drive .3 mile to Route 942 (Bluewater Drive), and turn left. Drive 1.1 miles to Route 616 (Scruggs Road), and turn right. Drive 4 miles to Route 833 (Lovely Valley Road), and turn left. Drive 2.4 miles to Route 670 (Burnt Chimney Road), and turn right. Note: Route 833 becomes Route 668 just before you cross a small bridge. Drive 2.5 miles to Route 834 (Brooks Mill Road), and turn left. Drive 7.8 miles to stop sign at end (Route 40). Turn left, and drive 6.1 miles to Route 645 (Old Mountain Road), just past Dairy Queen, and turn left. Drive 1.5 miles to end, at Route 626 (Smith Mtn. Road). Turn left, and drive .5 miles to Route 610 (Waters Edge Drive). Turn left, and drive 1.8 miles to Route 1379 (Silver Tee Drive). Turn right, and drive .4 mile to Route l376 (Blackwater Circle). Turn right, and proceed to houses.
8. Arigo house: 85 Milestone Lane
Return to Route 1379 (Silver Tee Drive), and turn left. Drive .4 mile to Waters Edge Drive, and turn right. Drive .3 miles to Golfers Crossing, and turn left. Drive .1 mile to Milestone Lane, and turn left.
DIRECTIONS BY WATER
Tour directions start at the Halesford Bridge; other starting points may be used. As you head downstream (toward the dam), odd-numbered green channel markers will be on your right; lower numbers are closer to the dam. A lake map is useful to help locate the houses. Look for orange balloons marking each dock. Attendants at each dock will help you; do not use any unattended dock. Watch for shoals and low water, especially near some of the docks, islands, and markers. GPS coordinates are given for the non-technically challenged.
5. Lampkin
Proceed south on the Roanoke River (toward the dam). Turn right into small cove immediately past R15, and look for 4th dock on the left. (N 37 degrees 04.910’; W 79 degrees 37.771’)
4. Gusso
Exit small cove, keeping 1 large island on your right, and 1 small and 1 large island on your left. Make a half-right turn, and go to other side of cove, keeping to the right of 2 shoal markers. Look for the 11th dock on your left, at a red-orange brick house. (N 37 degrees 04.342’; W79 degrees 37.570’)
3. Fuzi
Return to main channel of river; after passing the two shoal markers (keeping them on your right), turn right. After passing R13, turn right into cove. Pass Boardwalk common dock, and proceed toward the head of the cove. Dock will be on your right, at blue-gray house with stone pillars. (N 37 degrees 04.007’; W 79 degrees 37.539)
2. Gantt
Return to main channel of river, and turn right. Proceed downstream to R8, then turn left toward the dam, keeping to right of R6, R4, and R2. Pass W1 on your left (W1 is opposite 4 steel towers on the mountain, to your right) then pass 3 inlets on your left. Head toward boat dock with bright green metal roof; turn left into cove on the left, opposite that dock (This cove is not easy to find; there will be a cluster of three orange balloons in the water at the cove entrance), then proceed toward head of cove about 1/3 mile to camel-colored house with 6 skylights. (N 37 degrees 04.310’; W 79 degrees 32.365’)
1.Correll
Return to mouth of cove, and turn right. After passing several small coves on the right, head in general direction of single tower on the mountain (past the dam). Turn right into large cove before W1; keep left in this cove, and look for 5th dock on the left. (N 37 degrees 03.428’; W 79 degrees 32.539’)
6-7. Heck and Redden
These houses are across the street from each other, and it is best to dock in one location to visit both. Attendants at each dock will know if docking space is available at the other dock, if no space is available at their location.
Return to Roanoke River, after passing dam. Keep R2, R4, and R6 on your right. Pass between R8 and B1, and turn left into the Blackwater River. Proceed straight ahead, toward white house with 2-story porch and green roof. Enter cove to right of this house, and look for 2d dock on your right, at house with multiple brick arches. OR
There is a shoal marker to the right of the entrance to the last-mentioned cove. Keep this shoal marker to your left, and enter cove just beyond this shoal marker. Look for 2d dock on your left. (N 37 degrees 01.639’; W 79 degrees 36.536’)
8. Arigo
Return to Blackwater River, and head upstream. Turn left at BU1. Pass BU3, and turn left at BR1. Look for large multiple dock on the left (6th dock after BR3). (N 37 degrees 00.962’; W 79 degrees 37.333’)
